Gemotions

The scent of lavender and sandalwood permeated the air of the small, dimly lit room. Ava lay on her yoga mat, her body sinking into the plush surface. She focused on her breath, the slow, rhythmic inhale and exhale washing away the tensions of the day. The soft chanting music played, filling the space with a sense of calm.

A frantic knocking on the door shattered the quiet. It was Ms. Davies, arms crossed, her eyes narrowed. "Ava! The noise! The chanting! It’s preventing me from relaxing!"

Ava paused, opening her eyes. The peace she'd cultivated had been disrupted. She sat up, her spine straight. “I am so sorry, Ms. Davies,” she said, her voice soft but firm. "I'll turn it down." She went back to the mat, but the quiet that had lingered, had evaporated.
